Peer Review Policy

Publication of articles in International Journal of Halal Management Research (JHMR) is dependent solely on scientific validity and coherence as judged by our editors and/or peer reviewers, who will also assess whether the writing is comprehensible and whether the work represents a useful contribution to the field. JHMR acknowledged the effort and suggestions made by its reviewers.

Initial evaluation of manuscripts

All submitted manuscripts undergo an initial editorial review. While rare, exceptional manuscripts may be accepted at this stage. Manuscripts rejected during this initial review typically lack originality, contain significant scientific flaws, or fall outside the journal's scope. Manuscripts that pass this initial assessment are then forwarded to expert peer reviewers for further evaluation.

Type of peer review

Submitted manuscripts are typically evaluated by two to three independent experts through a blind peer-review process. Reviewers are tasked with assessing the scientific soundness and coherence of the research, determining its originality and novelty, and evaluating the clarity and presentation of the findings for publication.

Review reports

Reviewers are requested to assess the manuscript based on the following criteria:

  • Originality and novelty of the research.
  • Methodological rigor and appropriateness.
  • Adherence to ethical principles and guidelines.
  • Clarity and persuasiveness of the results and conclusions.
  • Appropriate citation and acknowledgment of prior research.
  • It is important to note that language editing is not within the scope of the peer-review process.

Decision

Reviewers advise the editor, who is responsible for the final decision to accept or reject the article. The Editors will reach a decision based on these reports and, where necessary, they will consult with members of the Editorial Board. Editor’s decision is final.
